The original Houston Comets helped define the WNBA before the league had decades of proof behind it. Sheryl Swoopes, Cynthia Cooper, Tina Thompson, Kim Perrot, and the original dynasty represent more than championships — they represent standard-setting, visibility, resilience, sisterhood, and cultural impact.
The challenge is making the return feel worthy of that foundation without relying only on nostalgia.
